The state the API declares about itself inside that same answer: whether it can dispatch jobs and record runs right now. It is one round trip, not a second check.
Why this page is still here
The public site is a set of static files on a content network. The API, the scheduling engine and the database are on a single server somewhere else. The failure that stops the service does not take this page down with it, because they are not the same machine.
One machine, on purpose
The engine and the database sit next to each other because that is what makes scheduling fast. The cost of that choice is stated in our Privacy Policy: a failure of that machine interrupts the service. No plan promises more than one machine can give.
What the check does not know
It is one request, from your browser to our API, made when you opened this page. It cannot say why, and it cannot say for how long. Nor can it see something that is broken for someone else and works for you.
This page does not come to you
There is no alert to subscribe to. Any message we could send would be composed by the service itself, so a service that is down cannot send it. We do not promise one, and that is why you have to open this page.

Write to us with the time and what you were expecting to run. During an incident that is the fastest way to tell us what you saw.
